THE YOUNG FABLES are the Modern Traditional Country duo hailing from Nashville, TN. The past year has been a rollercoaster ride of heartache and joy for the pair. Lead vocalist Laurel Wright suffered the loss of her younger sister and her father in a span of eight months, and has taken to social media for healing. Her voice has been embraced by fans across the nation as the duo embarks on the PLAYHOUSE TOUR supporting their latest record “Old Songs” from Grammy-Award winning producer Mitch Dane. The Young Fables were recently invited by Shania Twain to showcase their music on USA Network’s “Real Country” and Rolling Stone magazine listed The Young Fables in their Top Ten list in September of 2018, hailing their single “Crazy” as “…simple and heartbreakingly direct!”
*** Don’t miss a chance to take a sneak peak at the duo’s upcoming feature documentary at Saturday’s screening hour.
LIZ LONGLEY Fresh out of the studio with Grammy Nominated producer Paul Moak, Liz is touring the nation teasing SOLD OUT audiences with a taste of what’s to come on her highly anticipated sixth studio record “Funeral for My Past”. Stationed in Nashville, the Berkelee College of Music graduate is poised to take her career to the next level. She is well known for her heart stopping vocals and elite songwriting craft.
BREAKING NEWS: Recently, Liz became engaged to one of Buffstock’s founding brothers Patryk Larney!
BANDITS ON THE RUN are a Brooklyn-based criminal trio, notorious for stealing hearts and serenading strangers. They first gained infamy conducting musical sticks-ups in the subways of New York City with their three part-harmony and nostalgic sensibilities.
At the center of this dangerous crime ring are Roy Dodger, guitar & vocals (a.k.a. Adrian Enscoe); Bonanza Jellyfish, cello & vocals (a.k.a. Sydney Shepherd); and “Clarissa”, percussion, xylophone & vocals (a.k.a. Regina Strayhorn). All three bring their unique voices and songwriting abilities to the table, creating a variety of sounds and styles that create a musical web of sound hard to pin down, and even harder to resist.
To your ears, these whimsical criminals will sound like a nostalgic medley of old and new. Their tools are various and sundry, a motley mix of off-beat pop music covers, reworked jazz and rock standards, and originals that’ll make you feel like deja vu all over again. They've amassed a collection of songs, stolen and original alike, that some say would charm the pants off of even the most callous New Yorker.
But don't take our word for it, catch the Bandits in action! You may find yourself swept away, smiling in spite of yourself, slow dancing with a stranger, or even dropping a dollar into the cello case.
EDDIE ARJUN (formally known as ARJUN), the three-piece instrumental band from New York, has been trailblazing their own hybrid of rock and improvisational jazz since 2003. Eddie Arjun fuses the power of rock with improvisational alternative jazz, resulting in a delicate balance of intricately crafted melodies backed by powerhouse musicianship.
Eddie Arjun’s soulful, razor-sharp inter-musician communication and chemistry translates vibrantly through their recorded works, and transfixes live audiences across the Northeast. Eddie Arjun has garnered comparisons to artists such as Charlie Hunter, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Jeff Beck, David Gilmore, Warren Haynes, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page.
BO ARMSTRONG is a Dallas-born singer/songwriter who universalizes feelings many choose to bury. His songs — at once conversational and poetic—have garnered the respect and subsequent mentorship of storied songwriters (and fellow Texans) Jack Ingram, Jon Randall, and Liz Rose, and his voice —figuratively and metaphorically speaking— offers a unique blend of grit and polish that is the bedrock of his Texas-bent folk-rock sound.
His five song EP "Where We Are" —produced by Brian Douglas Phillips (David Ramirez, Rob Baird, Thomas Csorba) in Austin, TX— tells a tale of love lost, found, and upheld amid uncertainty. Phillips, an adept multi- instrumentalist, brings the rich storytelling to life with a delicate balance of nuanced keys and tasteful pedal steel. The organic production is a reverent nod to Ethan Johns’ works of the early 2000s.
CARRIE WELLING The newly minted indie pop songstress has carved a remarkable path of sound and story, with all roads leading to her recent rebirth as a solo artist in Nashville, TN. Her bold, rich voice, reminiscent of Natalie Maines and Stevie Nicks, is upstaged only by the genuine love and confidence this natural performer exudes on stage. On the verge of her next release “Good To Me”, the ex-front woman of the NYC Cosmo-Country hit The Vanity Belles is telling her story country wide on the Welling & Williams Tour, hitting cities along the Southeast, Northeast, Mid-West and California Coast. Most recently appearing with independent runaways Delta Rae and stunning audiences on the Melissa Etheridge Cruise.
THE WOODFORD BROTHERS Appearing at BUFFSTOCK more than any other act in the festival’s short history, The Woodford Brothers, previously known as String Fever, are a staple in the fabric of the festival.
This harmony rich blue grass band formed in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains is fronted by vocalist Bruce Jepson and flanked by multi instrumentalist Pete Becker, bassist Sandy Joren and utility player Mickey Maguire.
JACKIE KAMEL is a Brooklyn based singer/songwriter best known for her original pop songs. catchy singalongs, and heartbreaking ballads. Urging millennials not to give up on their dreams and women to stay empowered. This unique siren is a celebrated member of the renowned NYC Singer/Songwriter Circle and has seen her music featured in multiple indie films. Catch her before the country catches on. Her new full length album, "Everything You Wanted" is expected out early this fall.
